Paris 2024 Qualification on the Line at IBSA World Games

The USA Goalball men’s and women’s teams are loading up for a run at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games with both squads sending experienced rosters to the 2023 IBSA World Games in Birmingham, England, Aug. 18-27, the penultimate qualification event for next summer’s Paralympics. A first-place finish is needed at the IBSA World Games to secure qualification for Paris, with 13 women’s teams and 14 men’s teams vying for the coveted spots in Birmingham. U.S. Paralympian Joe Walsh Elected IBSA Vice President

Two-time Paralympian and 1992 bronze medalist Joe Walsh (Quincy, Mass.) was elected vice president of the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) on Friday during the IBSA Extraordinary General Assembly in Fatima, Portugal. Fort Wayne’s Turnstone Center to Host 2023 USABA Goalball Nationals in September

The U.S. Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) has announced the 2023 USABA Goalball National Championships are returning to the Turnstone Center in Fort Wayne, Ind., Sept. 22-24. Men’s Goalball Wins Nations Cup Title

After dropping their opening match, the USA Goalball Men's Team reeled off six consecutive victories to claim the gold medal at the June 9-11 Nations Cup in Berlin, Germany. The American squad outscored its opponents 78-37 and reached double-digits in goals in five of their seven games. An 11-7 opening-match loss to the Germany Black squad was followed up with two pool-play wins on the opening day of competition...a 13-3 triumph over Montenegro and a 12-2 win over Spain. Honeybees & Manticores Reign Supreme Again

It was a case of deja-vu at the USABA Southeast Regional Goalball Tournament in Smyrna, Ga., over the June 2-4 weekend as the New Jersey Honeybees and Manticores walked away with the gold medals in the women's and men's divisions, respectively. It marked the Honeybees' second regional title of the year and the third for the Manticores. Twenty teams competed in the three-day event that was hosted by Georgia Blind Sports and streamed on the USABA YouTube channel.
