Chula Vista to Host Selection Camp for First-Ever USA Blind Soccer Men’s National Team


(October 26, 2022) – The U.S. Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) is holding a team selection camp, Oct. 27-30, in Chula Vista, Calif., with 13 players with visual impairments and three sighted goalkeepers vying to earn a spot on the first-ever USA Blind Soccer National Team. USABA Conducts Visually Impaired & Blind Soccer Clinics as Part of PlayLA Adaptive Youth Sports Program

The U.S. Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) is supporting the City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Department (LA RAP) to launch the first visually impaired & blind soccer clinics as part of the PlayLA Adaptive Youth Sports Program. The free clinics are designed for blind and visually impaired youth ages 5-11 and 12-17, with all skill levels welcome to participate. Second Blind Soccer Talent ID Camp Held in South Carolina

Coaches and athletes from across the U.S. converged on Rock Hill, S.C., July 8-10, to take part in a blind soccer talent identification camp. The event was organized by the United States Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) in conjunction with the Charlotte Independence Soccer Club. The camp consisted of three full days of training with two on-field sessions each day. Historic Blind Soccer Camp Held in Baltimore


A milestone moment occurred in Baltimore, Md., April 8-12, as the U.S. Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) conducted its first blind soccer talent identification camp since being certified by the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee as the sport’s national governing body. USABA Announces Six Sport Ambassadors for Paralympic Sport of Blind Soccer

Colorado Springs, Colo. (April 13, 2022) – As the newly-certified National Governing Body for the Paralympic sport of blind soccer, the U.S. Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) has appointed six individuals to act as sport ambassadors. Throughout the year, the five athletes and one coach will assist the organization in spreading awareness around blind soccer programming and other initiatives via digital content and in-person appearances.
