IBSA Goalball Downloads – Court Specifications
Eyeshades
Eyeshades can be constructed using ski goggles and duct tape. Tape should cover both the inside and outside of the lens to ensure no light enters the goggles. These goggles can be used at sanctioned tournaments within the U.S. as long as they do not allow any light in when worn.
Goalball Goals
Many programs build their own goals out of PVC pipe and netting, and it is acceptable to use these goals in tournaments if the dimensions are accurate. It is also possible to work with industrial or plumbing companies to create goals based on regulation dimensions.
Court Lines
Goalball court lines are constructed using string that is premeasured to meet court specifications. Lines are secured in place using floor tape. Programs will need to purchase string that is 0.003m (+/-0.0005m) in thickness and cut the string to the appropriate length. Vinyl floor tape should be used to prevent damage to flooring and should be a high-contrast color to the court surface.
