At the recently-concluded Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, Team USA competed in a total of 241 events across 19 sport disciplines. The U.S. won a total of 37 gold, 36 silver and 31 bronze medals, and 129 athletes came home with hardware.
This year’s team consisted of 242 athletes, including 37 with visual impairments and six guides.
In sports and categories for athletes with visual impairments, Team USA captured 16 medals, including four gold, seven silver and five bronze.
Gold medalists were triathlete Brad Snyder (St. Petersburg, Fla.), swimmers Anastasia Pagonis (Long Island, N.Y.) and Gia Pergolini (Atlanta, Ga.), and track athlete Noah Malone (Fishers, Ind.).
Silver medals were won by the U.S. women’s goalball team, judoka Ben Goodrich (St. Paul, Minn.), swimmer Colleen Young (St. Louis, Mo.), and track athletes Liza Corso (Newmarket, N.H.), Lex Gillette (Raleigh, N.C.) and Malone.
Taking home bronze medals were Pagonis, Young, and track athletes Kym Crosby (Yuba City, Calif.) and Isaac Jean-Paul (Evanston, Ill.). A complete list of results for Tokyo Paralympians with visual impairments can be found below:
