2016 Adaptive Rowing Camp
In partnership with USRowing and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Adaptive Sports Program, the United States Association of Blind Athletes (USABA), is pleased to host an adaptive rowing camp for rowers with physical disabilities and identify potential candidates for participation in the Paralympic Games. The camp will be held at Community Rowing, Inc in Boston, MA May 21-27, 2016.
The camp is open to male and female participants who have physical disabilities in the LTA Paralympic boat class. This includes visual impairment, mobility impairment and amputees. A description of the Legs, Trunks and Arms classification and additional adaptive rowing information can be found here.
Athletes with disabilities who are currently rowing or have previous rowing experience or who have a high level of fitness and a competitive athletic background are strongly encouraged to apply.
Veterans and Active Duty Service Members with disabilities are also strongly encouraged to apply. Funding to offset expenses for Veterans and Members of the Armed Forces is awarded by U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Adaptive Sports Program.
Program fees for non-military athletes will be no more than $400 which includes all components of the camp (accommodations, ground transportation, meals, equipment, training, etc.). We endeavor to subsidize these fees for the benefit of qualified candidates. Travel cost to Boston will be the responsibility of the participant.
Applications must be submitted no later than April 15.
